He was first elected to the Florida House as a Republican on January 25th, 2000, from the 111th district. He was previously a City Commissioner from West Miami. During his tenure as Speaker, Marco Rubio promoted a conservative, smaller-government approach to legislating. He championed a major overhaul of the Florida tax system, which would have eliminated all property taxes on primary residences and replaced the revenue with a flat consumption tax. His tenure was also marked by successful efforts to create a world-class public school curriculum, passing legislation designed to address the socio-economic factors that lead to academic underperformance. Rubio also led the way in passing historic energy legislation based on market incentives rather than big government mandates.

James Russell Williams for U.S. Senate - Utah
Wlliams is running against bailout supporter Sen. Bob Bennett, and he wants to focus on five main issues: fiscal discipline, accountability, national security, limited government and immigration reform. In particular, immigration reform is preeminent. Williams also wants to reverse Roe v. The Mitt Romney Deception
Despite recent statements across the country by Governor Mitt Romney claiming he's pro-life, pro-family and a committed conservative, a broad investigation of his actual statements, actions, and public positions over the years indicates that he has spent his entire career speaking and governing as a liberal -- and that his new found conversion to conservatism very likely coincides with his candidacy for the presidency. The information in this report is gleaned from public records, press accounts, internet web sites and research (as well as personal observation) by the organization, MassResistance, a grass-roots pro-family group that has observed Governor Romney for over a decade. They have analyzed his legislation, met with his staff, lobbied for and against his agenda (depending what it is) and otherwise compiled considerable research on his administration. And guess what? He's a RINO.
