Nationwide Campaign Launched Against Infamous Abortion Practitioner Over Deaths
RightMarch February 26, 2013Stoyan Zaimov at the Christian Post reports:
Earlier in February, pro-life groups demanded legal action after the death of 29-year-old Jennifer McKenna-Morbelli, a 33-week pregnant woman who underwent pregnancy termination at Carhart’s abortion facility in Germantown, Md. McKenna-Morbelli suffered massive internal bleeding into her abdominal cavity on Feb. 7 and died from her injuries just days after her abortion.
“It is so tragic that this family had to lose not only their nearly full-term child, but also their wife, daughter, and sister,” said Michael Martelli, executive director of the Maryland Coalition for Life, at a memorial service for the woman. “What is most appalling is that the state of Maryland refused to hear the pleas of the community, and has allowed [Carhart] to butcher women and children.”
Defend Life also reminded readers in a press release that in January 2005, 19-year-old Christin Gilbert, who had been sexually assaulted, also died after an abortion by Carhart, performed in Wichita, Kansas. The woman, who had Down syndrome, underwent a third trimester abortion after her parents placed her in the care of Carhart.
The national petition is calling on the Maryland Board of Physicians to revoke Carhart’s medical license. Over 700 people have signed the petition since its announcement on Monday.
