President Obama joined world leaders for a gala dinner in Cambodia Monday with “strongman” Prime Minister Hun Sen. The leaders donned traditional Batik shirts for the occasion.
According to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Batik shirt is “intertwined with the cultural identity of the Indonesian people and, through the symbolic meanings of its colors and designs, expresses their creativity and spirituality.”
